A covetable table lamp with a storied heritage, this variation from Joe Columbo's 1967 Coupé series remains as striking as it is useful. A simple, ingenious mechanism connects the chromed stem to the gloss lacquered aluminum shade (matching the metal base) and the light beam can be aimed in any direction by simply moving the dome up, down as well as tilting it sideways. Oluce's enduring design is also part of the permanent collection at MoMA in New York and Munich's Neue Sammlung Museum.
