Norm 69 has a backstory as layered as the 69 pieces that are easily assembled in this now-classic design (and without a drop of glue or any tools). Though originally conceived in 1969, it didn't see the light of night until 2001, when a friend of designer Simon Karkov introduced him to the team behind then start-up Normann Copenhagen, which launched with Norm 69 as its inaugural product.
