Designed to illuminate a large dining room table, Berlin designer Sebastian Summa’s tour-de-force pendant cleverly toys with visual perception. Composed of 12 borosilicate glass tubes, only the one at the center functions as NL12’s light source while the other tubes act as diffusers via refraction and prism. Without any visible wire or discernable LEDs, the sole structure seems to come from the pair of brackets resembling gymnastics clamps that balance the bundle of tubes perfectly.
