Swedish designer Jonas Wagell wanted a lighting that wasn't visually overpowering in a room and devised Peek's attenuated silhouette that he calls "quirky," first as a floor lamp and here as a table model with the proportions shrunken. Handily, the base also forms a catchall for earplugs, jewelry or other ephemera, with the tip of the stem serving as the close-at-hand dimmer.
