In a stroke of serendipity, this side chair from the 1956 Drawn series is now revived by &Tradition from the designers' original sketches. Modernist icons Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen's eloquently simple seating is fashioned from turned and milled solid wood with a form-pressed backrest—and the seat is hand-woven from more than 100 meters of natural paper cord. Among the first to introduce relatively inexpensive pieces for Danish export, the duo relied on traditional craftsmanship and organic materials for furnishings that remain timeless today.
