This molded bench continues the dialogue between classical Asian furniture forms and mid-century aesthetics inherent in the Mandarin collection by Neri & Hu. The Stellar Works design directors employ revered symbols as their guiding motif—"the sphere which symbolises the temple of Heaven versus the square form represented by the temple of Earth," says Lyndon Neri. What emerges from that synthesis is a contemporary piece that is at home in almost any setting, the bench's seat in molded fiberglass with a rich leather covering. The solid-wood frame in ash or walnut is traced with fine brass-plated detail.
